General Manager Matt Shulack

Matthew Shulack, general manager of Cap City Fine Diner and Bar in Gahanna, joined Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR) in 2011. Prior to, Shulack found his passion for serving people great food and genuine hospitality by starting out at a different restaurant.

“Always be yourself,” Shulack says when asked what advice he has for those interested in pursuing a career in restaurants and hospitality. “Treat every misstep as a learning opportunity, not a mistake. Every action creates a new path of growth and being open to growth is the key to success in life.”

Shulack also says that his greatest lesson in his professional career is don’t sweat the small things. “A dollar here and there can do wonders in ways of making Raving Fans, and it’s astonishing the relationships we can make just by making Yes the Answer!”

A native of Galesburg, Michigan, Shulack’s favorite CMR dish is the salmon from Mitchell’s Ocean Club, but he’ll also take any steak with a bleu cheese crust.
Shulack currently resides in New Albany, Ohio with partner, Emily, and his daughter, Rylee. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf and cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Boston Red Sox and The Liverpool Reds.
